Welcome

Marwar Muslim Educational and Welfare Society, Jodhpur was given Mualana Abul Kalam Azad Literacy Award on 21.03.2005 at New Delhi by Government of India. There two more institutions one from Puna and other from Kerala were also given this award. When he house was being informed about the work done by 15000 students studying various courses in different schools and colleges, numbers of vocational courses were being taught at these centers. Then and there a thought came, why not a university at Jodhpur? The great name of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Should shine on the gates of a University which should have world class facilities.

We therefore determined to realize this goal in near future so that we could leave a legacy behind and posterity could remember the great leader.

We were having 56 acre of land at village Bujhawar, Tehsil Luni, District Jodhpur (Rajasthan), 11km away from Railway Station, to make this ambitious plan a reality. Buildings and infrastructure facilities were not available. So we decided to start university in the present building of the school, and submitted our project to the government on 02.07.2012. Currently university is offering various courses under five faculties namely Social Science & Humanities, Commerce, Science, Computer Science & Public Health.

On 20.07.201, the Government of Rajasthan constituted a committee to examine the proposal and project report and to issue LOI. The Inspection was conducted by the Inspection team on 10.09.2012.

On 17.012013 the Government of Rajasthan issued LOI for the University. In 09.04.2013 the Government of Rajasthan constituted of 6 members to verify the compliance report submitted by the society, after receiving the report, Maulana Azad University act was passed by the Rajasthan Assembly on 30.08.2013 and published in Rajasthan Gazette on 16.09.2013.
